Astoria

The Goonies was filmed in Astoria.  So I went to Astoria.  Didn't see One-Eyed Willy's pirate ship.  I did however see a shipwreck!  It was pouring rain most of the night before and morning of, so I was getting a hazy look at the unfamiliar turf around me.  Talked to a guy at a gas station and he told me I needed to go to Fort Stevens, drive on the beach, sit in front of the shipwreck, and make some art.  So I did!  The weather was pretty gnarly.  High winds and lots of water, but I'm sitting in a Land Cruiser and she can take me anywhere.... Had an epic time, tested the 4WD out a bit... shes ready for Moab.  Sat in front of the aforementioned shipwreck, and made some art in the back!  The sky parted for me to get a little blast of sunlight later in the day.  Used the opportunity to get out and stretch my legs, snagged some photos and proceeded to drive about 15 minutes inland to camp for the night.  Excellent day.
